We are tucked away behind the petrol pump at Chinch Bunder, on Nawroji Hill Road. It’s a bit of a tricky spot to find if you aren't looking for it. We make cans here, and the sound of metal is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. The workshop isn’t huge, but we’ve managed to fit all the machinery we need into it over the years. Some of the machines have been with us since the start, and they still do the job just fine. Dongri is a lively place, always something happening outside the doors. We mostly focus on getting the cans shaped and sealed right. It gets hot in the summer, especially with the machines running all day, but we’ve got some fans that help a bit. Our customers are usually people who need reliable packaging for their goods. We don’t go in for big advertisements. Word of mouth around the neighborhood usually brings people in. Sometimes we have piles of tin sheets waiting to be worked on, and other times the floor is clear because we just sent out a big batch. It’s a bit messy sometimes, with scrap metal bits here and there, but we clean up when we can. Working with metal is tough on the hands, but it’s what we’ve always done. We aren’t trying to be anything other than a local shop that makes decent cans for whoever needs them. It's noisy and cramped, but we get the job done. Each day is just about making sure the production stays on track.
