Kutir/Mamta Kheror Design Studio

Our place is right in Aram Nagar-2. If you know Versova, you know how these old rows of houses are. Kutir/Mamta Kheror Design Studio is tucked away here at number 149. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, especially when the rains come and the lanes get muddy. Inside, it's mostly sketches, fabric bits, and rolls of paper everywhere. We’ve been here for a while now. The studio gets good light in the afternoon, which helps when we are looking at colors and textures. We spend most of our time at the big wooden table. It’s not fancy at all. The neighbors are mostly other creative folks or people who have lived in Andheri West for decades. We usually have the kettle going for tea around four. There isn't a receptionist or a big lobby. You just walk in and someone will probably be busy at a desk or cutting some material. We deal with designs every day, moving from one thing to another. J.P. Road is always noisy, but once you get inside the studio, it’s a lot quieter. It feels more like a workshop than a corporate office. We like it that way because it lets us focus on the actual work. There’s always some project spread out on the floor. It’s messy sometimes, but that’s how we work. Just a local studio doing its thing near the coast. Nothing too complicated about it, just people working.
