If you know the Dhobi Talao area, you know how busy it gets, especially near Chennai Road. Our office is located at number 502, right in the middle of all that noise and constant movement. Being an estate consultant here means we spend a lot of our day on the phone or walking around the neighborhood looking at different properties and buildings. The stairs up to the office can be a bit of a climb when the lift is acting up, which happens more than it probably should. Inside, it’s mostly just metal filing cabinets and a few chairs for when people stop by to ask about rentals or sales in the district. It’s a bit cramped, but it works fine for us. We’ve seen the area change quite a bit over the years. New buildings go up and old ones get torn down, and we try to keep track of it all on our messy maps and ledger books. There’s always someone coming in with questions about paperwork or local taxes, and we just try to give them a straight answer based on what we know from being around so long. It’s not a glamorous life, just a lot of talking and checking documents until the sun goes down and the traffic thins out. Most days we grab a quick tea from the stall downstairs and keep at it. We aren't trying to be the biggest firm in the city, we just like working in this specific part of town where we know everyone.
