Kausars Food Delight Restaurant

There is a lot of noise in Vikhroli West, and if you walk near number 39, you will eventually find our place. Kausars Food Delight Restaurant isn't anything particularly special to look at from the street, but we stay busy enough to keep the lights on. I’ve been working inside kitchens since I was just a teenager and finally running this spot is a big responsibility. The stove is almost always on and the constant hum of the exhaust fan is something you just stop hearing after a while. We do a lot of rice dishes and different gravies. Sometimes the delivery guys are all shouting at once and it gets a bit chaotic near the entrance, but the food gets out to the tables eventually. We aren't trying to be some five-star establishment. We just want to serve a hot plate of food to someone who is tired from a long day of work. The chairs might not match each other perfectly and the menu is just a simple sheet we printed out, but the taste is what actually matters to the people who eat here. Vikhroli is a working-class area and we feel like we fit right in with the neighborhood. We see the same faces every day, which is the best part. It makes the long hours feel shorter when you can joke with a customer you’ve known for years. We just cook and clean and do it again.
