Kasthuri Garments

We are located at 34-C in Periyar Nagar, over near Tharamani. To get here, you go via Kanagam. It’s a lively neighborhood. We have a lot of sewing machines running most of the time. The sound of the needles is just part of the background here. We make various types of garments. The floor is usually covered in bits of thread and fabric scraps. We have a team of local people who are really good with their hands. It’s not a fancy factory. It’s just a honest workshop where we get things done. We have stacks of cloth piled up against the walls. The heat can be a bit much in the middle of the day, so the ceiling fans are always on high speed. We’ve been here for quite some time now. Most of our workers have been with us since we started. We don't have a big human resources department or anything corporate. If there's a problem, we just talk it out over lunch. We work hard to finish the orders on time. It’s a lot of cutting and stitching and checking. We try to keep things simple and just focus on the clothes. People in the area know us well. It’s a busy, noisy, and productive place to be every day. We just keep the machines hummimg along.
