Kartik Pav Bhaji

Kartik Pav Bhaji is our small place located at Juhu CP Tank 59. We have been here serving the neighborhood for quite some time now. Juhu is always full of people, especially near the water, and we get a lot of that crowd coming through. We spend most of our time mashing potatoes and vegetables on the big flat tawa. The sound of the spatula hitting the metal is something you hear all day long. It is a noisy, busy environment, but we like the energy of it. We do not have a big indoor seating area, so a lot of people just stand around or eat in their cars. We use a lot of butter and spices, just like you would expect. The kitchen is open so everyone can see what is going on. We do not have a fancy menu with hundreds of items. We just stick to pav bhaji and a few other things. It is a lot of work keeping the stove hot and the bread toasted just right. We buy our vegetables every morning to make sure everything is okay. It is not a glamorous job, and our clothes usually smell like spices at the end of the shift. But we have been at this for years and it is how we make our way. We are just a local spot for people who like simple food.
