Kantilal & Co.

Kantilal & Co. is based in the Janmabhoomi Bhavan building, right in the heart of Fort. We are up on the third floor at 11/12 Janmabhoomi Marg. The building is one of those old ones with high ceilings and thick walls that you find all over this part of Mumbai. It has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit much if the elevator is busy. Our office is a straightforward place where we handle trading and various business services. We have been here for a long time, so the desks are a bit worn and there are files everywhere. The air in Fort always has that specific smell of old paper and the nearby sea. During the day, you can hear the sounds of the street coming up from below. We usually start the morning with some tea and go through the ledgers to see what needs to be handled first. Most of our regular visitors are people we have worked with for many years. It is a very traditional way of doing things, really. We don’t go for anything too modern or polished. It is just a place where we sit down and get through the daily tasks. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic with all the documents moving around, but we manage to keep track of it all. It’s just how we have always operated.
