Our place is tucked away at No. 2 New Micheal Sadan in Laxmi Udyog Nagar. If you are looking for us, we are right opposite Parvati Niwas in Kanjurmarg West. It is an industrial area, so there is always the sound of trucks and machines in the background. We have been working out of this unit for a while now. The space is filled with fabric scraps and half-finished pieces because we are always in the middle of a job. It gets very busy during the festival seasons. Sometimes we stay late into the night just to finish up the work that’s piled on the tables. The light inside isn’t the best, but we know where everything is. It's a bit of a maze to get here if you don't know the shortcuts through the industrial estate. We don't really have a showroom or a place for people to sit comfortably. It's mostly just a workspace where the real sewing happens. My brother helps with the cutting, and we have a few local ladies who come in to help with the finishing touches on the garments. We drink a lot of cutting chai from the stall at the corner of the lane. It’s hard work and the dust from the cloth gets everywhere, but we like seeing the final result when a bundle is packed and ready to go out. We've been here for many years and know the street well.
