We’ve been here in Bandra East for a while now, tucked away in the Govt Colony area near Krishna Nagar Road. It’s usually pretty loud around here, mostly because there’s someone always trying to figure out a new song on the guitar or hitting the wrong keys on the piano. It isn’t a fancy place with soundproof walls or expensive carpets, just a simple spot in B-107/1 where people come to learn. My desk is usually covered in old sheet music and a few half-empty tea cups from the morning sessions. Sometimes the humidity makes the instruments act up, but we just tune them again and keep going. You can find us right behind the main area, and if you listen closely, you’ll probably hear a drum set going off or someone singing a bit out of tune. People from the colony walk by all the time, and some stop in just to say hello or ask if their kids can start lessons next month. It’s a busy little corner of Saijpur Bogha, really. We don’t have any big signs or flashy lights out front. Most people just know we’re here because they live nearby. It’s just how things are in this part of town, you find a spot that works and you stick with it. It gets a bit crowded in the afternoons when school lets out, but that’s when it feels most alive and the music really starts to happen.
