Saree Emporium

We are located at 74 A Ratna Bhuvan, right on the ground floor. If you know Old Hanuman Lane, you know it is a narrow squeeze off Kalbadevi Road. It is one of those parts of Mumbai where everything feels like it is piled on top of each other. Our shop is not huge, but we pack a lot of sarees into the space we have. Most of the time, the front door is wide open to let in whatever air is moving. We have been in this building for a long time. The walls have seen better days, and the floor is worn down from people walking in and out. We do not do anything fancy. We just show the sarees, help people match the colors, and pack them up in brown paper. It is a noisy neighborhood with the handcarts and the people rushing by. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back. It is a simple life. We know most of the other shopkeepers on the lane. We share news and complain about the monsoon rains together. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just find us by walking past or hearing about us from their neighbors. It is just how we like it. We focus on the fabric and making sure the prices stay fair for the local folks who shop here. There is always someone coming in for a chat.
