Meenali Sarees

We are located at No. 88/90 Vithalwadi on the ground floor in Kalbadevi. If you know the Kalbadevi area, you know how packed and loud it gets with all the traders and shoppers. Meenali Sarees is right in the middle of that rush. Our shop isn't huge but we cram a lot of sarees into the shelves. Most days involve unfolding a lot of silk and cotton for people to look at and then folding it all back up again. The ground floor spot makes it easy for people to just walk in off the street. We’ve been at this Vithalwadi address for quite some time now. The building is old and has that specific Mumbai market smell of dust and cloth. We start early in the morning and stay until the shutters go down late at night. Sometimes it gets so crowded in the shop that there is barely room to move, especially during the wedding seasons. We don't have a big website or anything, we just show people what we have on the racks. It is a lot of physical work, lifting heavy bundles and talking to customers all day. The traffic outside is always a mess but we are used to the noise by now. It is just how life is in this part of town. We keep things straightforward and just sell what people are looking for without making any big claims about it.
