Being in this area means we are surrounded by cloth and textiles all day long. Our shop is full of sarees of all different kinds, stacked up in piles on the shelves. We spend a lot of time unfolding them to show people the patterns and then folding them back up again. It is a lot of work for the hands, but it’s what we do. The noise from Kalbadevi Road is always there, with people shouting and horns honking. We have been here for a long time and have gotten used to the pace of the market.
