Kalakruti Dance Academy

Kalakruti Dance Academy is situated right at 23/H in Cuffe Parade. We are very easy to spot because we are right next to Hotel President. It is a nice part of town, though the traffic can get a bit heavy during the evening rush. Our space is where all the practice happens. You can often hear the music playing from the hallway. We have been here for a long time now. The floors are worn down from years of people dancing on them, but that is how a dance school should be. It is not a cold, modern studio. It feels more like a second home to us. There are mirrors all along the walls and a few benches for people to sit on while they wait for their turn. Being so close to the hotel means there are always people walking by. Sometimes tourists stop and peek in to see what is happening. We do not mind. It is a lively atmosphere. We spend a lot of time cleaning the mirrors and sweeping the floor after the day is done. The lighting isn't perfect, but it works for what we need. It is a place filled with movement and rhythm. We do not have a big front desk or anything like that. You just walk in and you are part of the chaos.
