Over in Dahisar East, we are set up in the Raj Satyam Apartments at D 616. This is Ashokvan, a part of Mumbai that feels a bit more lived-in than the shiny downtown areas. Our office is basically a flat where we have set up our computers and some chairs. It’s a bit cramped, and if more than three people are talking at once, it gets pretty loud. We deal with a lot of local real estate stuff, mostly answering questions and checking on documents. The building has its own quirks, like the elevator that sometimes takes a while or the neighbors who are always curious about what we are doing. We keep the windows open when the weather allows, but usually, it’s just the hum of the fan overhead while we work. We don't have any fancy mission statements or marketing posters on the walls. Mostly, we just have calendars and maps of the local sectors pinned up. It’s an honest way to work. We know the shopkeepers downstairs and the guys who deliver the mail. It’s a small operation here, but we keep busy enough. Sometimes we lose track of time because there's always one more thing to check or a call to finish. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep things moving along without any fuss. The local tea stall guy knows exactly how we like our drinks.
