Our office is in the Fort area, which is always busy and full of people. We are on the 3rd floor of the Kanji Khetishi Building at 5 Fort. It’s an old building, like many in this part of Mumbai, with high ceilings and those big windows. We do what we call life solutions, which mostly means helping people with their insurance and other bits of planning for the future. It’s not a very glamorous job, but it’s necessary. We spend a lot of time on the phone or filling out forms that seem to never end. The office is a bit lived-in, with stacks of folders and some tea cups usually sitting around. We don't have a fancy website or a big sign outside. Most people find us because they work nearby or their family has dealt with us before. The stairs up to the third floor can be a bit much if you aren't used to them, but there is a lift if it's working that day. We try to stay organized, but sometimes things get a bit messy when it's busy season. We’re just regular people trying to help other regular people figure out their paperwork. It’s a steady rhythm we’ve got going here. Fort has a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of it in our own way. We just keep our heads down and do the work, trying to get things finished by the end of the day.
