Jayanti Ghosal Music Classes

Jayanti Ghosal Music Classes is based in Andheri on the 3rd Cross Road. Our rooms are 101 and 104, so you have to come up the stairs to find us. It's a busy part of the city, but once you get inside, it’s mostly just the sound of music. We have been teaching here for a long time. The space is filled with instruments like the harmonium and some tablas, and there’s usually a bit of dust on the less used ones. We don’t have a formal reception area. Students just come in, take off their shoes, and start their lessons. It’s a very home-like atmosphere. We teach both kids and adults, and sometimes the classes overlap, so it can get a bit noisy with different tunes playing at once. We don't do any big promotions or have a fancy sign outside. Most of our students come from the nearby apartments in Andheri. They heard about us from a neighbor or saw us mentioned on a local notice board. The benches we use for sitting are a bit hard, but nobody seems to mind once the music starts. We focus on the traditional ways of learning, which takes a lot of time and patience. It is not about finishing a course quickly. We just want people to enjoy the music they are making. It’s a humble place, and we are quite happy with how things are.
