We are at Shop No 1 on Chhitabhai Patel Road in Kandivali East. It’s down Lane No 11, right behind Cummins Commercial College and near the Best Depot. It’s a handy location because everyone knows where the depot is. We deal with housing, mostly flats and small tenements in the Kandivali area. The office is small but it’s right on the street so people can just pop in. We spend most of our time talking to people who want to move closer to the station or the college. It’s a busy neighborhood. There’s always someone moving in or moving out. We just keep track of the rooms and the rents. It’s not fancy work. We do the agreements, check the IDs, and make sure the landlords are happy. Sometimes we are out walking through the lanes showing places to young couples or students. The college being nearby means we see a lot of people looking for rooms. It’s a lot of walking and talking every day. We’ve been in this shop for a good while now. Most people around Lane 11 know us. We just try to keep things simple and clear for everyone. No corporate talk, just regular property help for the local folks who live and work in Kandivali. It is what it is.
