We are up on the seventh floor here in Bandra West, specifically at 702 on Chincholi Bunder Road. J J Properties isn't one of those big real estate firms with a hundred agents in suits. It’s just us in a small office with a couple of desks and a lot of files. We spend most of our time on the phone or walking around the neighborhood looking at flats and shops. Bandra is a busy place and the property market is always a bit crazy, so there is never a dull day. We try to keep track of who is moving out and who is looking for a new place, which is harder than it sounds. Sometimes the elevators in the building are slow, so we end up waiting around a lot. We don't have any big slogans or promises. We just show people what’s available and tell them the truth about the plumbing or the lease terms. A lot of our business comes from people who live nearby and just know our faces from the years we’ve spent on this road. It’s a lot of paperwork and running back and forth to the registry office. We don’t really do much advertising because the sign on the building seems to do the job well enough. It’s just a regular local business trying to help people find a roof over their heads. It’s not always easy, but we’ve managed to stay in this office for quite a long time now.
