Indradev Pan Shop

Indradev Pan Shop is located on Charni Road, specifically at 9th Main in the 4th Block. It is a small stall, barely enough room for one person to stand inside comfortably. We have all the different types of tobacco and supari lined up in glass jars on the shelves. Charni Road is a place where people are always in a hurry, but they still find a few seconds to stop at the counter. We spend the day folding leaves and putting in the fillings. Our hands are usually stained from the ingredients we use. The shop is right on the street, so we see everything that happens in the 4th Block. We don't have a sign that lights up or anything like that. Just a simple board with the name on it. Many of our customers have been coming to us for years. They don't even have to say what they want; we just see them coming and start making their usual pan. It’s a small way to earn a living, and it keeps us connected to the neighborhood. At night, we lock up the wooden shutters and head home. The next morning, we are back again to set everything up. There isn't much to it, just a bit of work and a lot of familiar faces passing by throughout the day. The humidity here can be tough, but the shop stays dry inside. We like the sound of the traffic on Charni Road too.
