Imperos Dance Academy

You can find Imperos Dance Academy over in Goregaon East. We are located near Chakala, specifically inside the Pragnya Bodhini High School premises. It is a bit of a walk from the main station, but it’s a good location once you get here and find the right gate. The dance space has big floors and some mirrors on the walls so everyone can see what they are doing during practice. It’s not a professional studio with velvet curtains or anything fancy. It feels more like a community space because it is part of the school building. We have some speakers that we plug in to play the music, and they can get quite loud depending on who is picking the songs. During the day, you can hear the sounds of the school, and then in the evenings, it becomes our space for dancing. The floor is a bit scuffed from all the shoes, but that just shows how much use it gets every week. We spend a lot of time cleaning the mirrors because they get fingerprints on them all the time. It’s a very energetic place to be. We don’t have a fancy lounge for parents to wait in, just some chairs lined up against the wall. People come here from all over Goregaon to move around and learn some new steps. It’s a simple setup but it works for us. We just like having the space to move and the music playing.
