Our agency is based in Saptashrungi Chembers, room 10-199, right in the middle of Andheri West. It’s a crowded building in a crowded part of the city, but it suits us just fine. Himalaya Estate Agency is a small setup. We don’t have a big lobby or a receptionist greeting people at the door. It’s usually just one or two of us sitting among stacks of folders and old property maps. We focus on the local area because that’s what we know. Andheri is always changing, with new shops opening and people constantly moving in and out of flats. It’s a bit chaotic, honestly. We spend a lot of our time walking from one building to another, checking out apartments that are coming up for rent or sale. We deal with all sorts of people, from students looking for a cheap room to families needing more space. It’s not always glamorous work. There’s a lot of waiting around for people who are late for viewings and dealing with landlords who can be a bit difficult.
