Mumbai Central is a busy place to be. We are over here in Huseini Lakda Bazaar, specifically at number 60. Bellaisis Road is usually packed with cars and people heading toward Maharashtra College. At Hatim Aluminium & Glass Traders Pvt. Ltd., the sound of cutting metal is pretty much the background music. It’s a tight space, but we make it work. Glass is heavy and you have to be careful with it every single minute. The office is small and usually has blueprints or scraps of paper lying around. We’ve been in this part of Mumbai for a while now. You get used to the humidity and the constant noise of the bazaar. Our staff knows exactly where every piece of aluminum is kept. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny. It’s more of a warehouse feel where things get done. We talk to the local contractors and the guys who need a few windows fixed. It’s all very direct. We don't use big words or have fancy meetings. If a delivery is late because of the Mumbai traffic, we just deal with it. It’s part of living here. We just want to get the glass cut right and the frames ready. That’s the daily routine for us on Bellaisis Road. It's a lot of lifting and measuring throughout the day. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big order, but that’s just business in Mumbai. We just keep the shop open and keep working.
