Haresh Steel Centre

We are down on Duncan Road, right on the ground floor where all the heavy lifting happens. Haresh Steel Centre has been in this spot for years, and the floor is definitely showing the wear and tear from all the metal we move around. It’s a dusty place, honestly, but that’s just the nature of dealing with steel. We have stacks of pipes and sheets everywhere, and sometimes it’s hard to find a clear path to the back desk. People come in looking for specific sizes, and we do our best to dig through the inventory to find it. The noise from the traffic on Airport Road is constant, but we’ve gotten used to it. We aren't the type of place with a fancy showroom or air conditioning. It’s just us, the steel, and the tools we use to cut things down to size. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow lane outside, and we have to help guide them in. It’s hard work and your hands stay dirty most of the day. We don’t even have a computer for most of this; people usually just know we are here at 22/28. We keep track of orders in big ledger books and try to make sure everyone gets what they paid for. It’s a straightforward business. We sell steel, we talk to the regulars, and we close up when the sun goes down. Most days it's just about getting the orders out on time and keeping the inventory straight without losing our minds. It's tough but we like it.
