Handloom Textile Traders/Libas

We have been running this place at 16 Jijamata Road for quite a while now. It is right in the Khatodhara GIDC area so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around. People know us as Libas but the official name on the papers is Handloom Textile Traders. We spend most of our mornings unloading bundles of fabric that come in from different places. The warehouse gets pretty dusty especially when the wind blows through the GIDC. Sometimes the tea stall down the street is the only place we get a break from the heat. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that here. It is just a workspace with rolls of cloth stacked up to the ceiling. If you are looking for the shop you might miss it because the signage is a bit old and faded. Most of the folks around Chakala know where we are though. Working with handloom materials is tricky because the threads can be uneven but that is just how it goes. My cousin helps out with the accounts when he has time. Usually it is just a few of us moving boxes and making sure the orders get out. The traffic on Jijamata Road is a nightmare in the evenings so we try to finish up early. There is nothing special about the office but it gets the job done and we have been here long enough that the walls feel familiar to everyone.
