Hakimi Estate Agency is located over in Kandivali West, specifically at E-5 in Shanti Nagar along the New Link Road. This part of Mumbai is always moving, especially around Dhanukar Wadi. We spend a lot of time in the office just dealing with whoever walks through the door. It gets quite loud with the traffic outside on the Link Road, but you get used to it after a few years. Most people who come to see us are looking for something small or just want to know what is happening with the prices in Shanti Nagar. We don't have any big corporate setup or fancy presentations. It is mostly just us sitting around with a few ledgers and a mobile phone that never stops buzzing. Sometimes the rain makes it hard for people to come in, so we just sit and drink coffee and wait for the weather to clear up. We’ve seen this neighborhood change quite a bit since we started, with new buildings going up where there used to be nothing. It is a busy life, and we are just trying to keep up with all the paperwork and the different people who need help finding a place to stay or do business. We aren't trying to be the biggest agency out there, just the one that stays open and answers the phone when a neighbor calls. It’s simple work but it keeps us very busy every single day.
