Habibas Dance Academy

We are over in Andheri West, right by Dholewal Chowk. The academy is located at 94/D 4 in the C Prince building, which is part of the Mhada area on S V P road. It’s a pretty lively neighborhood in Mumbai, as you can imagine. There is always noise from the street and people moving around. We started this dance space because there weren't many places nearby where people could just show up and learn some moves without it being a big deal. The studio isn't huge, but it has enough space for a good group. We have mirrors on the walls and a decent floor, though it needs a good sweep every single morning because of the dust from the road. Students come from all over the local area. Some are kids whose parents drop them off after school, and others are adults who just want to do something active after work. It gets quite sweaty in here during the summer months, but we have the fans going full blast. We don’t do big fancy recitals with expensive costumes every week. It’s more about just getting the steps right and having a bit of fun. Sometimes the music is a bit loud and the neighbors might complain, but we try to keep it reasonable. It’s a local spot where everyone knows each other after a few weeks. That’s just the way it is at the academy. It's a nice way to spend the evening.
