H M & Company is on the second floor of the Laxmi Building. The address is 126/128 Nagdevi Street. If you know Nagdevi Street then you know how crowded and narrow it is. It's a historic area for trade and we have been part of it for a long time. Climbing up to the second floor of Laxmi Building is a bit of a workout every day but it keeps us moving. The space we have is filled with all sorts of items we deal in. Nagdevi Street has a very specific smell and sound that you don't find anywhere else in the city. It's the sound of handcarts and people shouting and the smell of old buildings and metal. We don't have a lot of room for luxury here. The office is mostly just storage and a couple of spots to sit and do paperwork. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit but we just keep working by the windows. We get a lot of regulars who have been buying from us for years. They know the way up the stairs. It’s a bit of a grind sometimes because of how busy the street is but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We just do our business, talk to our neighbors, and go home when the sun goes down. It's a simple way to live. The stairs are steep and old but they have seen a lot of history over the years we have been here.
