Guptaji Estate Consultant is tucked away in Andheri West. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded and loud this part of town is. We have a small office here and it is usually filled with papers and old files. It is not a polished corporate space at all. The paint is peeling a little in the corners and the chairs are a bit old, but it is home to us. We have been working in Andheri for years. We know the different lanes and which buildings have water issues or good parking. Most of our day is spent talking to people who walk in off the street or call us up. We handle rentals and some sales, mostly just local stuff. There is no fancy marketing here. We don't even have a big sign. Just a small board so people know they found the right place. The rains in Mumbai can be tough, so sometimes the office smells a bit damp, but we just keep the windows open. We are just local people trying to help other local people find a place to stay or work. It is a lot of back and forth with landlords and tenants. We drink chai from the stall downstairs and keep at it. It is a simple business run by people who actually live in the neighborhood. We don't make big promises we can't keep.
