Gupta Fresh Fruit Stall

We've been here at Mathuradas Road in Kandivali West for quite some time now. You’ll find us right near the railway station. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. My family started this fruit stall because we wanted to do something simple. We get up early, usually before the sun is even up, to pick out the fruit from the big markets. Some days the mangoes are better than others, and sometimes the apples aren't as crisp as I'd like, but that is just how it goes with fresh produce. We mostly just stack the crates and wait for people to stop by on their way home. It’s a lot of standing around and chatting with the regulars who live around Estreet. We don't have a big fancy shop, just the stall. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when the trains let out, but we manage. We try to keep things organized, though it gets messy with all the wooden boxes and paper wrap lying around. It’s just me and a couple of guys helping out. We know most of the people who walk past every day. If you are ever near the station and need some bananas or whatever is in season, you can find us there. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’re still here at the same corner. We don't have a website or anything like that. You just have to walk up and look.
