Guncha

Our place is called Guncha and you can find us at 94, opposite Oberai Mall in Philiphs Tower on Holly Cross Road. This is Malad East, and having the mall nearby means there is always something going on. We are tucked away in the tower, so it’s a bit different from a street-side stall. We spend our mornings checking the quality of what arrives. If the roses aren't good, we have a bad day, it's as simple as that. The IC Colony area has a nice feel to it, and we get a lot of families coming in. We don't have any fancy sales pitches. If someone likes a bouquet, they take it. We do a lot of the cleaning and cutting ourselves right there in the shop. It's not a glamorous job. Your fingers get stained and you're always picking up fallen leaves from the floor. The shop is small, so we have to be careful about how we stack the crates so people don't trip. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the traffic from the main road near the mall, but once you're inside with the plants, it's a bit better. We have been here for a while now and the locals seem to know where to find us. We don't do much in the way of decoration for the shop itself because the flowers do that work for us. It’s a basic business that keeps us occupied.
