Grub Station

Grub Station is located right at the intersection of Hanuman Road and Nanda Patkar Road in Vile Parle East 2. It’s a busy corner, and the noise from the traffic never really stops. The shop is quite small, so we are always bumping into each other in the back. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big sign. It’s just a place where we make food. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the morning deliveries of bread and vegetables. Sometimes the crates get left on the sidewalk and we have to hurry to bring them in before they get in the way of people walking by. It’s a lot of standing on our feet all day. We have a small sink that always seems to have something in it. The walls have some marks from where we moved the stove last year. We aren't trying to be the best or anything like that. We just want to get through the day and make sure the customers get what they asked for. The afternoon heat can be pretty bad since the door stays open all the time. We use a lot of fans, but they just move the warm air around. It’s a very basic setup. We know the other shopkeepers on Nanda Patkar Road, and we usually trade stories about the neighborhood when things are slow. It’s just a regular life running a small shop here in the middle of the city.
