Exqisite Glass Studio

Exqisite Glass Studio is found at No. 21 on Dinbai Petit Street. We are just off Balaram Street in the Grant Road area, which is a very old and crowded part of the city. The streets around here are narrow and full of character, and our studio fits right into that atmosphere. Despite the name "studio," it’s really just a place where we work with our hands and get things done. The building has that old Mumbai feel to it, and sometimes the walls feel like they’re closing in because we have so much glass stored everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know where everything is. We spend a lot of our time dealing with the logistics of getting glass in and out of such a busy neighborhood. The traffic on Grant Road can be a nightmare, so we have to plan our days carefully around the truck movements. Most of the people who work here have been doing this for a long time, so we have a bit of a rhythm going. It’s not always quiet, and it’s certainly not always clean, but it’s our space. We don't put on any acts for anyone; we just show up, handle the glass, and try to make sure we don't have too many breakages. It’s a life built around the hum of the city and the smell of the workshop. We like it that way.
