Dupatta House

If you know where Sai Leela Hospital is on Station Road, then you’re pretty close to us. Dupatta House is located at Gala No. 417 in the Tata Nagar area of Govandi West. It’s a busy part of town, especially with the trains and the hospital traffic nearby. Our shop is mostly focused on various types of dupattas, as the name says. We have piles of them in every color you can think of. The space isn't huge, so we have to be clever about how we stack things on the shelves. Sometimes we’re still unpacking new stock when customers walk in, and we just have to move things aside to make room. It’s a bit chaotic on some afternoons when the station road gets really crowded. We try to keep things simple and just show people what we have. There isn’t any fancy decor or anything, just rows of fabric and us behind the counter. Working in Govandi West means you meet all sorts of people every day. We listen to the traffic outside and the sound of the trains while we work. It’s a steady kind of life. We’ve been in this gala for a good while now and we know the other shopkeepers around here pretty well. It’s just a normal day-to-day business for us, nothing more or less. We just stay open until the evening and come back again the next morning to start over.
