Over in Goregaon West 8, you’ll find our place. We just called it Good Food because we couldn’t think of anything more complicated. It’s a small kitchen mostly, with just enough space for us to move around without bumping into each other. We focus on simple meals that people eat every day. The morning starts with getting the rice going and making sure the vegetables are fresh from the market. I usually go to the mandi myself at five in the morning to pick the best of what’s available. The menu doesn't change much because people like what they know. We have some regulars who have been coming here since we first opened the doors. They don't even look at the board anymore, they just sit down and wait for their usual plate. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to close for a day. During the monsoon, the roof leaks a little near the back door, so we have to keep a bucket there. It’s just a normal neighborhood eatery. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just cook, serve the plates, and clean up afterwards. It’s a simple routine that keeps us going through the week. Sundays are our only day off, and usually, I just spend it sleeping or fixing things around the shop. We try to keep the prices low so everyone can eat.
