I set up here at 92/I in Bandra West on the second floor. It's a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens more often than I’d like to admit. Living and working in Bandra means there is always noise coming from the street below, but once you get up to the second floor, it gets a little quieter. My name is Geeta Iyer, and this is basically my home base. The space is filled with things I’ve collected over the years, so it doesn't look like a typical office at all. There are stacks of books and some old furniture that’s seen better days, but it’s comfortable for me. I don’t like those sterile, white-walled rooms you see in magazines. I usually start my day with a cup of coffee while looking out the window at the neighbors across the way. People come by to see me, and we usually end up sitting in the small kitchen area instead of the main room. It’s just more relaxed that way. Dealing with the Mumbai humidity is always a struggle, especially in an older building like this one. I try to keep the fans going all day. There isn't a big team here, just me handling things as they come. It’s a very personal way to work, and I wouldn't really have it any other way. It feels right to be in the heart of Bandra, even with all the chaos outside.
