You can find Ganesh Vijay Saree at Shop Number 4 which is 25/26 on Mall Road. We are right in Ghatkopar West near the Civil Lines area. We are positioned right across from the Bank of India which makes it easy for people to find us when they are out doing their banking. The shop has been around for a long time. We have a lot of sarees stacked up on the shelves from the floor to the ceiling. It’s a lot of colors and fabrics all over the place. Sometimes the piles get a bit messy when we are showing things to customers but we tidy it up eventually. We aren't a big showroom with fancy lights and air conditioning that freezes you out. It’s just a comfortable local shop where we know our business. People come in for weddings or just for something new to wear to a temple or a party. I spend my days pulling down boxes and unfolding silk for people to look at. My back gets a bit sore by the end of the day but it’s good work. Ghatkopar is a busy place and Mall Road is always humming with people. We like the energy here and we plan to stay right where we are for a long time. It is a lot of folding and re-folding but that is just part of the trade.
