We’ve been here at Prabhadevi 437 for quite some time now. Most people around the neighborhood know the spot because you can hear the instruments from the street. It’s not a big fancy studio, just a couple of rooms where we sit down and go through the notes. Ganesh Music Classes started because we just liked playing and figured others might want to learn too. Sometimes the strings break or someone hits a wrong note, but that is just how learning goes. We have some old harmoniums and a few guitars sitting in the corner. People drop by after school or work. It gets a bit crowded on Saturdays, honestly. We usually just pull up some extra plastic chairs when that happens. The walls are covered in some old posters and maybe a bit of dust here and there. We don't really have a receptionist or anything, so if you walk in, just look for whoever isn't busy playing. It is a simple setup. We spend a lot of time just tuning things. Some students have been coming for years, others just try it for a month and leave. We are just here doing our thing every day. It's mostly about getting the fingers to move right on the keys or the strings. Nothing too complicated, just music. If the fan is making noise, we just turn it off and open the window. That is how it is at Ganesh Music Classes.
