I work out of a space on the 5th floor of the Jeevan building, specifically room 923. It’s located in the Fort area, which is one of the oldest and busiest parts of the city. Being near the Bombay Store makes it easy for people to find the building, though navigating the narrow streets can be a bit of a challenge if you’re driving. The office is very traditional. It has high ceilings and large windows, though we keep the blinds down mostly to block out the afternoon sun. I’ve been here for several years now, and the room is filled with stacks of files and various documents. It’s not a big company with a lot of staff; it’s mostly just me handling things. The atmosphere in the building is quite old-school, with lots of different businesses operating out of small rooms along the corridors. I spend my days meeting with people who have various administrative or legal needs. There’s a lot of writing and reading involved in what I do. I don't really bother with modern office decor. I have my desk, a few chairs for visitors, and my filing cabinets. It’s a quiet place to get work done, even with all the noise from the traffic down on the street. People usually come to see me because they know I’ve been in this building for a long time and understand how things work in this district.
