Esufali Kikabhai Rangwala Shop

Our shop, Esufali Kikabhai Rangwala Shop, is situated on Modi Street in the Fort area. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this part of town is. The building is old and has that specific smell of aged stone and goods that have been sitting on shelves for a while. We aren't one of those modern shops with glass fronts and bright lights. We have been here for a long time, and the wooden counters are worn down from years of use. It gets very crowded on the street outside, with people pushing past and delivery carts moving around. Inside, it is a bit more controlled, but still quite cluttered. We sell things that people have needed for generations, and we don't feel the need to change how we do things just to look modern. The record books are mostly kept by hand and we know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. Some customers have been coming to see us since they were children, and now they bring their own kids. It is a slow way of doing business compared to the internet, but it works for us. We just sit here, talk to the people who come in, and provide what they need from our stock. It’s a simple life in a very fast city, and we like being part of the history of Fort.
