Falguni Fashion Designer

I’m Falguni and this is my fashion designer spot in Ghatkopar West. It’s located in the A Wing of Modern Ap, specifically Flat No 101. It’s basically where I live and work. Mumbai is a crowded city and having a space like this is how a lot of us get things done. I spend my days surrounded by different types of cloth, thread, and my sewing machines. There’s always bits of fabric on the floor no matter how much I clean. People come by to get things fitted or to talk about a design they have in mind. It’s a very hands-on process and sometimes I’m still working late into the night when the building is quiet. Modern Ap is a decent place and being on the first floor makes it easy for people to find me. I don’t have a big showroom with lights and mirrors everywhere. It’s just a practical workroom where the real making happens. I enjoy the process of taking a piece of fabric and turning it into something someone can actually wear. Ghatkopar is a busy neighborhood so there is always noise from the street, but once I start working, I don't notice it much. It’s just a small local business run out of a flat, keeping things simple and honest. I take my time with the stitching because that’s what matters most.
