Fakhri Traders

Starting the day at 129 Lohar Chawl is always a bit of a rush. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded it gets near Lohar Chawl. We’ve been running Fakhri Traders from this spot for quite some time now. Most mornings start with unlocking the shutters and seeing the early morning deliveries moving through the narrow lanes. It is a busy place with a lot of noise, but that is just how things are here. We spend most of our time organizing the stock and talking to people who walk in. The shop itself isn't huge, but we make use of every inch of space we have. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and we take a quick break. It is mostly just hard work and keeping track of what comes in and what goes out. People know us by our name, and being near the main part of the chawl helps people find us easily enough. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. It's just us, the shelves, and the daily business of trading. Sometimes the weather makes it tough, especially when it rains and the streets get muddy, but we keep the doors open anyway. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, yet the spirit of the market stays the same. It’s just a regular local business trying to get through the day-to-day tasks. Nothing more, nothing less.
