Esskay Chandeliers

Esskay Chandeliers is located at 3 Mazgaon Love Lane, which is a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main roads nearby. We deal with all kinds of hanging lights and glass fixtures. Most of the time, the shop is filled with crates of glass pieces and wires that we’re trying to organize. It’s a delicate kind of work, but the shop itself is actually quite dusty and cluttered. We spend hours cleaning individual glass drops or trying to figure out why an old lamp won't light up. It’s not just about selling things; a lot of it is just manual labor, lifting heavy frames and making sure nothing breaks. The ceiling is covered in different hooks because we’re always changing what’s hanging up there to show people. My grandfather started this business, and the place hasn't changed much since then. We still use the same old wooden desk and the drawers are full of spare bulbs and brass screws. It gets a bit dark in the back of the shop, so we always have a few test lights running to see what we are doing. People stop by Love Lane just to look through the window sometimes, which is fine by us. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us who know how to handle the fragile stuff without dropping it. Sometimes we break a piece and have to find a replacement from the old stock in the back. It’s a slow process, but we like it.
