Electrex Power Tools

Electrex Power Tools has its home in the Umrigar Building, right at number 86 Lohar Chawl. If you’ve ever been to Lohar Chawl, you know it’s the heart of the electrical and tool market in Mumbai. The building itself is quite old and has a lot of character, with its high ceilings and thick walls. We are surrounded by hundreds of other shops, but we have our own little corner where we keep our power tools. It’s always noisy outside with the sounds of handcarts and people bargaining. Inside, we try to keep things a bit more organized, though it’s a constant battle against the dust and the sheer amount of equipment we carry. We have drills, grinders, and all sorts of electric machines lining the walls. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most people find us because they were walking down the lane or a friend told them we had what they needed. We spend a lot of time testing machines to make sure they run right before they leave the shop. There is a lot of tea drinking and chatting with customers who have been coming to us for years. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the market, just a reliable one where you can get a straight answer and a fair deal. It’s a busy life, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
