Edifice Architects Pvt. Ltd. sits in the Panchsheela Apartment at Sector-29, Cbd Belapur. We’ve got a couple of plots combined there, 13, 14, and 15, so we have enough room for our drafting tables and files. Navi Mumbai is a bit different from the main city, a bit more space but still very busy. We spend our days dealing with various projects across Mumbai and the suburbs. The office isn't anything you'd see in a magazine; it's just a place with a lot of desks and a very old water cooler that makes noise. We handle a lot of the structural and design work that goes into modern buildings. It's a lot of coordination with engineers and local authorities. We don't always get it right on the first try, so there is a lot of erasing and re-drawing involved. Our team has been together for a while, so we know each other's habits well. We don't use fancy jargon when talking to clients because it just confuses people who don't know the industry. We just tell them what’s possible on their land. It’s a long commute for some of us, but we show up every morning. The files are stacked high and the phones ring a lot, but we just take it one project at a time. It’s a decent living and we take pride in seeing our plans become real buildings. We've been here for years.
