Diva Maharashtracha is over in the Shivaji Park area of Mahim, right across from the Mahim Head Post Office. Being in Mumbai, things are always a bit chaotic, but we’ve managed to keep our spot going for a good while. Shivaji Park is a famous landmark, so people usually have no trouble finding us. We are just a local restaurant focusing on the food people around here grew up with. The building is an older one, so it has its quirks, like the occasional leaky tap or a door that squeaks. We don't mind it much because it feels like home to us. The staff is mostly people who have lived in Mahim for years. We don’t use any marketing tricks or big slogans. We just open up every morning and start the prep work. It’s a lot of chopping, stirring, and cleaning. On weekends, the area gets really crowded with people visiting the park, so we stay on our feet all day. It’s a plain and simple life running a restaurant in this part of Mumbai. We don't have a fancy mission statement; we just want to make sure the food is ready when people are hungry. If you’re walking past the post office, you’ll see us there. It’s a straightforward place with no pretenses, just us doing what we know how to do best. We like the neighborhood and the people who live here.
