Diamond Lab

If you know Kalbadevi, you know how crowded it gets near Shivaji Road. Our place, Diamond Lab, is on the first floor of Building No F. It’s right near that Alankar Wholesale spot that everyone knows, which makes it easier to explain to people where to go. Getting here can be a bit of a struggle if the traffic is bad, which it usually is around noon or early evening. The building itself is older, and you have to walk up the narrow stairs to find our room. Inside, it's a bit quieter than the noisy street outside, thankfully. We do our work there every day, mostly focusing on whatever comes across the bench. It’s not a very big room, but it’s enough for the equipment we use for the lab work. Being in this part of town means there’s always something happening right outside the window. We see a lot of vendors and people moving goods back and forth on carts all day long. Sometimes we grab tea from the stall downstairs and just watch the rush for a minute before getting back to it. The space is a bit cramped with all the benches and chairs, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We’ve been here long enough that the walls have that lived-in look. It’s just a place where we come to work and do our thing without making a big fuss. The lighting is okay, but we use extra lamps for the detailed stuff.
