Design Associates

We are located in Andheri East, specifically in the 2nd Block, unit 41284. As anyone who works in Andheri knows, it’s a constant rush outside. Inside our office, though, it’s a bit more focused. We have a lot of tables pushed together to make enough room for our sketches and the computers we use. The space is a bit cramped because we have accumulated a lot of samples and old project files over time. It’s not a polished studio like you might see in a magazine. There are wires running along the floor and coffee stains on some of the older blueprints. We like it this way, though. It feels like a place where things actually get built and thought about. We usually have some music playing to drown out the sound of the traffic from the main road. The light isn't great, so we have a lot of desk lamps scattered around. Most of our day is spent staring at screens or talking through ideas with each other. We don't put on any airs when people come to visit; we just show them what we are working on. There is a small sandwich stall downstairs that basically keeps us fed. It’s a busy, messy, and productive little corner of the city. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time and don't see ourselves moving anywhere else anytime soon. It suits us just fine for the kind of work we do.
