Deepak Trading Co. is located at 110 in the Yogeshwar building, which is at 135 Kazi Syed Street. If you know this street, you know it’s right in the heart of a very old trading district. The lanes are narrow and there are people everywhere carrying goods on their backs or on handcarts. It’s a very traditional environment. Our office is small and filled with the tools of our trade, like old ledgers and sample containers. We don't have any of those modern glass partitions or high-tech gadgets. We prefer doing things the way they’ve been done here for decades. It’s mostly about building relationships with other traders on the street. We don't do any formal marketing. Most people find us because we’ve been here so long. The building itself is quite old and has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit steep and the walls are faded. We spend our days talking to suppliers and customers who drop in. It’s a very social way of doing business. There’s always someone stopping by for a chat or a cup of tea. We don't have a mission statement or any corporate goals like that. We just want to keep trading and doing honest work. It’s a busy, noisy, and sometimes messy way to live, but it’s the only way we know. We just keep doing what we’ve always done.
