Our shop is located at 118 in the Malad Shopping Centre, which is a very busy spot on S.V. Road in Malad West. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets, especially on the weekends. The shop isn’t very large, so we have to use every bit of space we have to display the dresses. We have rows of clothes hanging everywhere, and the shelves are always packed with new stock. It’s a lot of work keeping everything organized because customers are always pulling things out to look at them. We spend most of our day talking to people and helping them find something that fits. S.V. Road is never quiet, so there’s a constant sound of horns and people talking right outside our door. It’s a very different environment from a big corporate mall. We know most of the other shop owners nearby, and we often share news or a cup of tea when things slow down for a few minutes. We don’t have any fancy marketing plans; we just try to have good stuff that people in the neighborhood want to buy. The floor is a bit worn out from all the walking, and the mirrors could always use another wipe down, but it’s a place where we put in a lot of hard work every day. It’s just a local business doing what it does best in the heart of Malad.
