We are over in Colaba, right at the 1st Cross in Nanjamba Agrahara 158. Danda Food is just a small operation we started because we liked to cook. It’s a busy area and there’s always people walking past. We spend most of our mornings getting the ingredients ready. Sometimes the local market doesn't have what we need, so we have to go further out to find it. It's a bit of a struggle sometimes keeping up with the bills and the rent here. We don't have a big marketing team or anything, just us in the kitchen making food. The space is a bit small, so things get a little chaotic during the lunch rush. We try to keep everything fresh, which means we can't store too much at once. It’s a lot of washing pots and sweeping the floor at the end of the day. Some days are slower than others and we just sit and drink tea waiting for the next order. We’ve had a few leaks in the ceiling when the monsoon hits hard, but we patched them up. It’s just a regular local business trying to make a living. We know most of our regular customers by their faces. We don't use any fancy packaging, just plain stuff that gets the job done. It's tough work but we are used to the heat now. We are just a small team trying to do right by the people who eat our food. We don't complicate things.
